Aurora Marine Design (AMD) is a modern ship design and consultancy organisation focused on delivering a comprehensive personalised service.
At AMD we pride ourselves on providing real solutions to our clients and meeting their specific requirements – whether it be a new design, a refit or modification, stability, loadline, certification, 3D graphics, CNC Data or professional advice. Aurora Marine Design, formally PHD Marine, was formed in 1999 by Peter Hogbin and has since built a reputation as a market leader in vessel design and marine consultancy.
In 2006 AMD integrated Clubb Marine Design (CMD) (formally Clubb Drafting Services) into the organization. Clubb Marine Design was formed by Ron Clubb and has in excess of 55 years professional experience in ship design and consultancy, and over 200 custom designed vessels in operation. The addition of this back catalogue greatly increased AMD’s design experience in Landing barges, Fishing Vessels, Charter boats, Motoryachts and Workboats.
In 2014 AMD integrated both Commercial Naval Architects (CNA) and John Lund Marine Design (JLMD) into the group. CNA and JLMD were both foundered by John Lund, CNA in 2002 and JLMD in 1981. The addition of this back catalogue greatly increases AMD’s design experience in Fast patrol and pilot boats, Specialised cargo vessels, Landing barges, Floating plant and dredgers.

We are located in The Gold Coast City Marina, Coomera in Queensland Australia, centrally positioned within the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, and well located to provide personalised services to the Asia Pacific Region.

QA is implemented by Aurora Marine Design based on AS/NZS/IOS 9001 1994 as required by Queensland Department of Transport for Accredited Designers.
